January 2008 Newsletter
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year to you all!
A big welcome to the parents and new children, who have started our school this week.
Good News!
Miss Owens got engaged during the Christmas holidays!
Parent Governors
Mr Mallon was elected on to the Governing Body last term and so your representatives are:
Mr Mallon
Mr Kealley
Mrs Clarke
Mrs McCall
If you need to get in touch with any of these you can write via the office and all letters will be forwarded. Mrs Clarke and Mrs McCall are often available before and after school on the drive.
Traffic on
Creswick Lane
I have had a complaint from a neighbour that some parents are double parking on
Creswick Lane in the morning, which obviously inconveniences everyone else! With the cars and vans from the builders at Yewlands parked along one side of the road, parents must realise that they will sometimes have to park further from the school and walk a small distance. Please be a considerate driver.

Domestic Abuse
Not all families are happy .
If you think that you, or someone you work with, could benefit from a course to help women and children recover from the effects of domestic abuse telephone: 0114 2750101 or email: groupwork@sdaf.org.uk.
A new course will be starting in the Parson Cross area in March.
Absence
Please remember that you must ring school if your child is absent, and if you want to take a holiday during term time you need to complete a holiday request form. Last year fewer parents took their children out of school during term time which was great!
Thank you for reading this Newsletter.
